AMERICAN HORROR STORY ROANOKE
PRODUCTION DESIGN
American Horror Story Roanoke represented my second collaboration with renowned show runner Ryan Murphy as a Production Designer. The anthology series was primarily set in contemporary times however the shows underpinnings were based in the mysterious happenings to the first settlement at Roanoke and as a result the design of the primary residence spoke to period styles and references that would illicit mystery and fear. Drawing upon Shaker, Art Nouveau and colonial architectural references the main residence was seen as a character in its own right.
